Epic Blood Angel Landspeeder detachment.

Squeezing time from nowhere I managed to finish one support detachment of Landspeeders for my still and never ending growing Epic Blood Angels army.

Well, after playing a new game of NetEpic I felt the urge to paint again some more new units for Epic. I have a marine bike company that needs some support so I decided to paint an attack bike detachment for an extra punch.

And here you can see the bike company consisting of fifteen bike stands plus one chaplain and the newly painted attack bike detachment. Marine bike companies are a bargain for only 450 points, and charging up to 60 cm. make them great to grab early victory points or advantageous positions, flanking or even interrupting starting enemy movement. 
I am planning to deploy them for my next game but don't tell my opponent ;-)

Back to painting

Well, with this last hand operated (first it was my right hand) and healing well I finally went back to painting.

Here you can see a company of Baneblades for my Imperial Guard army. I was playing with different pigments but the sprayed varnish ate most of them. Next time I will remember to seal them before varnishing :)

Well, here you have my next batch of painted figures for the Adeptus Mechanicus army I am slowly painting. I happy how the knights have turned up. They are part of the support of my painted Knight Paladin company.

Epìc Knight Paladin House-hold

This is my first knight company for my Adeptus Mechanicus army for NetEpic. I love these figures.

 

And here you can see what I got so far: 1 Warlord, 1 Reaver (I have two more in the painting queue), 2 Warhounds, 7 Knight Paladin (I have 3 Castellan, 3 Errant and 1 Baron in the painting queue as well) and one Tech-Guard Company.

Warlord Titan Mk II.

I have finally painted this beauty, a Warlord Titan Mk II that has been waiting for almost twenty years to be painted. My mediocre painting skills do not make  justice to this behemoth, but the important point is that it is finally painted and ready to hunt down some Ork Gargants. Now I must find a suitable name for it...in Latin of course!

Baccus Roman Generals.

These three bases are the generals needed for a Warmaster Ancients army of 1.000 points, and with them I consider finished my little project of a Roman Army, although I have bought one more blister of legionaries to make two more units for WA (six bases).

Next Sunday they will face a horde of fierce Britons!

Baccus Barbarian light cavalry

Baccus Roman cavalry.

Two units of Roman cavalry for Warmaster Ancients though based for DBX (4x3 cm.). After basing them I realised that I should ahve painted their shields in blue or green instead of red, as it is too much red when next to my legionaires. But anyway, they are finally painted and based, and now I'm finishing the light allied cavalry and generals. Expect a battle report next weekend :)

Epic Terminator Company

I finally finished them. I painted them in several stages, being the first ones in the early nineties and the last ones with painted shoulder pads this week.

I have also painted four stands of Legion of the Damned Marines to form a detachment. They will come in help of my marines in dangerous moments. I am not happy how they turned out but anyway, they are painted and ready to game.

Next a Scout detachment.

Epic Terminator Titan stomped!

Last Sunday I was painting Epic stuff and I put to dry in the third story balcony the last Termies I dipped to finish the company. When I went to pick them I looked everywhere but I could not find them, then I leaned out of the balcony and saw the stick to where I glued them on the sidewalk; the wind had blown them out of the balcony .

I thought "there they are, I'm coming down right now to fetch them before something else happens to them", and in that very moment a car coming out from the garage run over them. Aieeeeeeeeeee, my termies!

When I got the stick no Termies were still glued to it, so I searched and searched for almost fifteen minutes until I found five of six and then gave up and return to painting. In the end I could recover three of them as one was MIA, another with the legs broken and the last one totally squashed as he failed all his save rolls, LOL!

Thank God I have two spare termies to finish this last one stand; so if nothing else happens, I'll post pictures of the full Terminator company at the end of the week.

Lesson learned: do not put to dry outside light weight plastic soldiers on a windy day.

Epic Thunderbolts.

Tired of painting only in red, I took a break to paint some badly needed air support for my Blood Angels Epic Army.

Here is the "Devlan Mud ate all details" squadron.

There are one more Thunderbolt and one Marauder squadrons in the painting queue, but I will paint them later on as first I want to finish my Terminator company.

Net Epic Space Marines

Recently me and my friend Paco have felt that bug again and after many years of oblivion, since the days of Epic Space Marines second edition, we have dusted off our armies again and started to complete unfinished companies of our Epic armies.

...1 Bike company with Chaplain and Librarian, 1 Reaver Titan, 2 Warhound Titans, 1 Tactical company with Chaplain and Librarian and 1 Razorback detachment, 1 Thunderhawk gunship and 2 Predator detachments.

To be painted and finished: 1 Terminator company, 1 Veteran tactical company, 2 Mole mortars detachments, 2 Thudd guns detachments, 1 Legion of the Damned detachment, 2 Land Speeder detachments, 1 Attack bikes detachment, 1 Dreadnought detachment, 2 Reaver titans, 1 Warlord titan, 1 Imperator titan and loads of Rhinos.

After that a small Imperial Guard army with two infantry companies, 2 heavy tank companies, several artillery and fighter and bomber detachments and 1 Capitolis Imperialis.

I hope to play soon NetEpic and Epic Armageddon!

Cachatan

After my last skirmish game from my ITEN campaign in 6mm I felt the itch of painting some more 6 mm minis, so I picked up these pseudo Cachatan minis from Dark Realm that my friend SpaceJacker generously gave me and here is the result.

Normally I prime in black for such smaller figures to get a greater contrast, but my eyesight has worsened with the age and now I cannot distinguish a thing if I undercoat in black. So I primed in white, block coloured, then washed them with GW's Badab Black and finally highlighted with the original base colours.

They do not turned up to bright as with black undercoat but at least I could paint them.

Baccus EIR skirmishers

These skirmishers come from the Baccus Celtic javelinmen blister (AC3). One blister is enough for three Warmaster Ancients units with five figures in each base.

Here is what I have painted so far. All the infantry for 1.000 points for WA except the artillery (next in the painting queue) and all the cavalry, to be painted next year.

Baccus Roman archers.

I finished my two Warmaster units of EIR archers that will also be used for other systems such as DBA BB. I should have painted their tunics in blue or green to make contrast with their bows and the flesh tone.

Here you can see a comparative among my Pendraken archers, the ones from Baccus and one base of Heroic & Ros Classic Indian archers that I painted eons ago. I wish the Baccus archers had a shooting pose instead.

6 mm Baccus vs. 10 mm Pendraken EIR

I finally finished my four Baccus EIR Auxilia units for WA, next will be archers. This time there are no decals for the shields but I think they came out neat. All the standards are broken and lost due to a small domestic accident.
