They come four in a box but I have just painted two as I got distracted with another project. Anyway, I think they are quite good for being soft plastic toys, and quite tall too!
Here they are. I instantly regret not ordering the armoured ones.
A shot comparing it to a 1/72 Zvezda Viking.
And another one against a "shieldwall of Rohirrin."
And one last comparing it to a GW 28mm Troll so you can see how bit they are. As in the movies I guess.
Honestly, we've always been a little suspicious of the quality of soft plastic miniatures. This is why when we saw the result of your painting we never thought that these trolls were made of such material. Really great job!
ReplyDeleteWe would say they are perfectly disproportionate to humans 1:72: how tall are trolls exactly? Will they be dragged into battle by orcs or will they act on their own?
They are sold as 1/72 scale Trolls and they are approximately 2" or 50mm tall. I'd say the armor and weapons they carry are provided by Orcs to fight for them :)
DeleteAmazing sculpts and great paint jobs! Too bad I am invested in 15mm.
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris. I'm also into 15mm and 28mm but now I've left it all for 1/72, which is something in between 15 and 28. I think the main reason of getting in this scale other than they cheap they are, is that they bring me back sweet memories when I was a kid and spent all my money on Airfix figures :)
DeleteWow, they are very impressive, especially for 1/72 scale! Wouldn't look out of place amongst 28mm models, so I really don't envy the lads in that shieldwall!
ReplyDeleteYes, they are big, hence the last picture, so you can see it. The lads in the wall will soon taste it :)
