A few weeks ago five of us joined in a full day DBA campaign. I played Rome with 4 cities in the center, everybody attacked me and I lost all my games and Rome civilization disappeared. A fine day with friends enjoying the hobby.
Map with five players: Gauls, Romans, Thebans, Seleucids and Numidians.
Thebans invading Brindisium, I think this was my only victory with my auxilia taking advantage of the crop fields and flanking Thebans spears.
Gaul vs Thebes.
Syracuse vs Numidia.
Numidians.
Syracuse and Rome defending in the back.
We started at eleven in the morning, lunch break and played up to six or seven in the evening. Final score was absolute victory to Thebes with 21 points and then Syracuse 9, Numidia 5, Gaul 3 and Rome 0.
No triumph for you Javier 😂
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun day and a great way to play some games.
Well, it was a triumph regarding they all were noobs I recruited to build a first DBA community where I live, but it certainly was a shocking perform from me in the campaign. In my defense I'd say they were constantly pestering me with questions and quarrels while I was trying to play my own games. That and the noise around that is affecting me as I'm getting older, and of course the Theban player who played very well. It was a great and historic day which I hope we can repeat soon. Right now they're discussing about doing a tournament :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to spend the day. A shame there was no triumph for Rome, but no doubt she will rise again! Interesting that Thebes did so well. Was it great play by the Theban general or do you feel the Theban army list is superior?
ReplyDeleteI think both. Spears in DBA 3.0 are really tough and he played well that day and took good advantage from all my many mistakes. Cheers.
