SWMBO allows me to play with friends and with our son but she won't play a wargame with us.
How about you guys? Are you luckier than me?

This blog is to share my main hobby which is painting and wargaming with miniatures. I paint and play historics, fantasy and sci-fi, from 6 mm to 28 mm.
Catherine will game with me. She doesn't like games that take ages to teach, and her knowledge of history is woeful, but she enjoys a good game regardless of the background.
ReplyDeleteShe's played in a few 'Hordes of the Things' tournaments (as have my children), and came close to winning one once.
Good for her you lucky husband. I doubt mine will ever try it
DeleteWe played D&D while dating and have a monthly D&D game with friends during the winter months. She will play Zombies, Guillotine, Talisman and other board games but doesn't have any interest in "traditional" war games. Frankly gaming is my hobby and she is involved in other activities I have no interest in.
ReplyDeleteA little personal space is a good and healthy thing.
Yes it is healthy and I have it every Sunday evening at a friend's house, but I miss to play sometime with her a good game of Heroquest, zombies or even Risk, anything!
DeleteMy Doctor told me..."To stay in good health, don't comment on this question." So, no comment!
ReplyDeleteLOL!
DeleteLove the cartoon! No, but I'm ok with it. She almost always gives me the "green light" to slip out and game with my friends so all is good!
ReplyDeleteThe cartoon was what it inspired me to post this!
DeleteI guess you're right as some guys cannot play wargames because of his wife
The view times I convinced her she won the game and wasn't even half as enthusiastic as I was.
ReplyDeleteSo... no! I won't ask her again!!
At least you played a few times, LOL!
DeleteNope, no joy here either. Won't even go to an exhibition with me! :(
ReplyDeleteI haven't thought about going to an exhibition with her but now you mention it yes, my wife would never go to one, nor to a hobby shop althought I go shopping with her sometimes.
DeleteThe same as you BUT she played THREE games of Pandemic!
ReplyDeleteMaybe if you try with a different game?
DeleteNope. My other half will have a look at what I'm painting now and again but thats it.
ReplyDeleteLord Siwoc managed to persuade his to play game for a prize. Great blog as well heres the game he played with his other half.

Bright idea and fun game! Thanks for the link :)
DeleteNicely played.
DeleteGF thinks my painting and figures are "cool" but isnt interested in gaming. I still count myself lucky she's aupportive of the hobby though.
ReplyDeleteYes, and I can say more or less the same as she allows me to play :)
DeleteMine is a good sport and tends to buy me stuff and has come along to a show, but never played yet, I think it would have to be a 'lightweight' theme though, nothing too obscure... ;)
ReplyDeleteI wish she showed some interest in my hobby, but maybe I'm a bit silly :)
DeleteI know at least one wife who sometimes coerces her husband into wargaming.
ReplyDeleteWow!
DeleteNo wargames, but she does like to play fantasy MMORPGs, so that's a hobby activity we get to share.
ReplyDeleteWell, then you're sharing part of your hobby with her which is great.
